Halloween Fun!

This Halloween was a rather different day. We got to do some of the traditional stuff, but then did some not so traditional.

First, we had a birthday party at Nickel Mania for my niece Lia. She was so cute with her big Halloween chocolate cake. It was a fun way to spend the morning. Some of the grandkids were in costume and Xander was one. We decided to dress him in his monkey suit for the party.

Next we headed to the Amtgard park. Dave had to judge Arts and Science and we had a knighting of our good friend Evan a.k.a. Loptr. It was neat to see and Xander even clapped on cue (when everyone else did). It was really cute.

Xander and I hung out at the park for awhile with Chante and Jason (Dave's bro and his wife), until it was time to get back and pick up their kids. Chante and I left and went to take her two kids and Xander trick or treating. We went around Overlake and it was a good place to go. It was well lit and lots of people were out and about over there. It turned out to be a really fun time. My nephew, Quinton was so excited, being three and all, and ran from door to door. We had all animals. A Lion (Quinton), a Dog (Zack) and a Monkey (Xander). I also got to meet my new nephew Jonathan for the first time. Dave's sister Christa's little boy. He was born in July, but we hadn't been able to meet him due to some complications of pregnancy and he finally got home earlier in October. But we weren't allowed to visit for a bit. But Halloween I finally got to see him and boy is he adorable! What a sweetie, too! He smiled for me at least 4 times. : )

That night my brother Blaine came over and we watched a scary movie after the baby went down. After everyone went to bed, Blaine and I sat up talking when we suddenly we saw police lights outside of my house. So, of course, we both take a peek through the blinds. Right across the street a police office had pulled over a girl in a little Jetta. At first we thought she was speeding or something, and then he had her get out of the car. Watch his finger go back and forth, and walk a line. Next thing we know another cop shows up. And we see the first officer get something out of his trunk. Breathalizer time! Sure enough they handcuff her, put her in the first cop car, drive off and before we know it we see a tow truck come and take her little car away while the second officer waited. And the best part of all of this...she was in a skimpy, skimpy dirty maid costume the entire time. We're talking little skirt, bra like top, with knee high socks and all! No shoes! Blaine and I sure got a kick out of it all. How embarrassing to get a DUI, but to get it on Halloween while in that outfit...man! Sorry, I didn't get any pictures, though.

All in all it was a great Halloween with lots of interesting events.
